A cooperative market immersed in Lyon. This is the project presented by the collective DEMAIN since several month. After similar concepts have developed in several cities (Paris, Lille, Nantes, Grenoble, Grasse, Montpellier, Marseille, Toulouse, Biarritz, Bordeaux), Matthieu Duchesne leaves Dijon to develop one in Lyon.
Everyone participates
The consumers are the volunteers of this supermarket. They are the owners. In return for access to products, each participant contributes 3 hours of work per month. They are local, organic and seasonal products. In exchange for the service, volunteers have access to products at low prices. In the collective, ten working groups are organized. There are also five employees who will perform daily work in several areas: maintenance, accounting, purchasing / sales, human resources.
Each can to do different mission : accounting, shelving, cleaning, funding, communication, product management, administration …
A precise organization
Every three weeks, a provisional steering committee meets to define the governances rules of the collective. The membership can to vote for amendments to the bylaws or amendments during the general meeting, which will be held once a year.
To a stable organization, the slots of each will remain the same each month. Demain is inspired by the organization of the Park Slop, in Brooklyn and La Louve, in Paris.
For racing, the quantity of the products is not limited. The only condition is to do the three hours of work.
« We encourage the development of sustainable, producer-friendly and environmentally sustainable consumption » defends the collective.

A multiple project
Demain will also equipped with a nursery, a conference room and a newspaper. The democratic system is one of the values defended. Each member may give his opinion. As the project is recent, the collective does not yet have premises to the supermarket.
How to join ?
The person who wants to join the collective must first become a member of the association: Les Amis de Demain and pay fifteen euros. Once the fund for the supermarket is unlocked, each member will have to pay 100 euros to become a cooperator and owner of the supermarket. As the supermarket wants to be accessible to all, students or people benefiting from social minima will pay 10 euros.
